Abstract

Fusarium wilt disease caused Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici is one of the most destructive diseases on tomato plants. One of environmentally friendly control measures to control plant pathogens is using biopesticides. This research aims to determine the lowest concentration of Eusiderin A from E. zwagery could inhibit Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici growth, for testing in field scale. This research includes isolation of Eusiderin A from E. zwagery, preparation of fungicide formula with active agent of Eusiderin A, and efficacy testing biofungicide Eusiderin A at tomato plantations. In this study, developed fungicide formulation is EC (emulsifiable concentrate) that at four different Eusiderin A concentrations (3, 4, 5 and 10 ppm). The 5 ppm Eusiderin A fungicide showed level of efficacy similar with synthetic fungicide of Benlate (benomyl) and no toxic to the leaves of tomato plants. Furthermore, tomato plants treated with Eusiderin A fungicide (5 ppm) indicate the level of tomato plants damage by other pathogens is low and tomato plant productivity is very high compared to other concentration. From this study, it can be concluded that the Eusiderin A fungicide (5 ppm) is effective enough to control fusarium wilt disease on tomato plants.
