Abstract

Students’ listening comprehension problems at second grade in SMKN Kota Jambi.Thesis English Education Program.Teacher Training and Education of University of Jambi in Academic Year 2017/2018. The first supervisor is NelyArifS.Pd, M.Pd. The second supervisor is AkhmadHabibi, M.Pd. Keywords: Listening, comprehension problems This research aimed to investigate the students’ listening comprehension problems. This study was designed by using descriptive statistics. The result of the test section was the quantitative data form. To get the data a questionnaire was used in collecting the data of students’ listening comprehension. The technique sample was purposive sample and the participant of this research was 73 students of SMKN 1 Kota Jambi. Based on the findings, almost students are having problem with listening comprehension. Such as listening problems related to the listening material, problems related to linguistic features, listening problems caused by the failure to concentrate, problems related to listener, listening problems related to the speaker and listening problems related to physical settings also the external internal factor can influence the students’ problem. “I find difficulty to understand reduce form” the percentage of this statement was 50.7% is the dominant of listening comprehension problem was listening problems related to linguistics features.
