Abstract

This research is based on the fact that the low learning activity of students during the learning process in grade IVB students SDN 47 / IV Kota Jambi is seen students who do not pay attention to the teacher when explaining the material, there are students who are busy themselves and chatting with friends next to him, students do not want Asked and when given the question the students just kept quiet and did not answer questions from the teacher, did not give an opinion in the discussion. This is due to lack of precisely teachers in applying the learning model in accordance with the purpose of learning in delivering learning materials.This classroom action research aims to improve student learning activities using the talking stick model in grade IVB students in sdn 47 / IV jambi city.The method used is classroom action research. Technique of data retrieval is done by direct observation during learning process and documentation. Observations were made to observe the learning process by using observation sheets and handphone cameras. Classroom action research consists of four stages: planning, execution, observation, and reflection.The results of this study indicate the application of talking stick teaching model can improve student learning activities. From the observation of the observation and the photos taken through the mobile phone camera seen an increase in student learning activities from cycle I to cycle III. In cycle I the average percentage of student learning activity amounted to 54.31%. Then in the second cycle the average percentage of student learning activities of 71.39%, an increase from cycle I to cycle II of 17.08%. And the third cycle has reached the success criteria of 81.5%, increased from cycle II to cycle III of 10.11%.Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the application of the teaching-learning model stick can increase student learning activities in IVB SDN 47 / IV class Kota Jambi.
