Abstract
This study aims to describe the Role of Teachers in Developing the School Literacy Movement Through Library Visit Activities in Class II 112 Public Elementary Schools. The research was conducted at the Perumnas 112 / I Public Elementary School in January and February 2020. The research data was obtained with a qualitative approach. The qualitative approach uses observation, interviews and documentation with the citizens of the Perumnas 112 / I elementary school, namely class II B teachers, library teachers and students. After the data is obtained, the data are analyzed using the Miles and Hubberman technique by data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study describe how the role of the teacher in developing the literacy movement through library visit activities in grade II of SDN 112 / I Perumnas. The results of this study indicate that the teacher's role is first, the teacher provides the means and infrastructure to support literacy activities such as reading books, reading corners, posters, motivational words, and other material rich in text. Second, teachers and students carry out literacy activities on a regular basis in accordance with the schedule so that students are accustomed. Third, the teacher invites students to carry out library visit literacy activities in accordance with a predetermined schedule. Fourth, guiding students in carrying out literacy activities both in the classroom and during library visits. Fifth, help students who have difficulty in carrying out literacy activities both in the classroom and in the library. Sixth, ask again the contents of the readings that have been read by students during Literacy activities. Seventh, giving awards for students who are active in reading. From the results of this study it is recommended that teachers be able to overcome the obstacles that occur in the classroom literacy activities and library visit literacy activities and teachers must also pay attention to their students in carrying out literacy activities so that they run well.
