Abstract

ABSTRAK The process of science learning that took place in class V SDN 110/1 TenamMuaraBulian has not been seen to involve students directly to be active and independent in following the learning process. So that science lesson less motivate students in the form of practical activities, most teachers who move from the students themselves so that makes the lessons are not interesting for students. This causes, the lack of student confidence when in point to appear to the front of the class.The purpose of this study is to improve students' learning independence through experimental methods on science subjects material nature of changes in the form of objects in class V SDN 110/1 TenamMuaraBulian.This type of research is a classroom action research. The subject and place of research in this study are the students of grade V SDN 110/1 Tenam with the number of 11 students. Appropriate achievement of the purpose of this study was conducted in 2 cycles. The data in this research is obtained from the observation, questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis was done descriptively. The results showed that the independence of students of Class V Elementary School 110 / I TenamMuaraBulian in science learning can be increased through the application of experimental methods. In Cycle I, the average observation result of student learning independence is equal to 36,82% with enough category and mean of result of questionnaire that is equal to 59,90% with medium category. In Cycle II, the average result of student learning independence observation is 65.45% with good category and average of questionnaire that is equal to 65,63% with good category. The results have exceeded the indicator of success that is based on observations and questionnaires have been ≥65% so the action is stopped at the cycle.Based on the results of research can be concluded that the use of experimental methods can improve the independence of science learning on the nature of the changing properties of students objects class V SDN 110/1 Tenam Muara Bulian. It is suggested that teachers should be able to apply other methods that are more varied in an effort to improve student independence. Keywords: Self-reliance Learning Science, Experimental Method.
