Abstract

Each kind of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) possesses different level of effectiveness on oil palm seedlings growing in various types of soil. Also, various kinds of AMF could act synergistically and antagonistically to each other in influencing the growth of oil palm seedlings. The objective of this study to evaluate AMF effectiveness to oil palm seedling on Red Yellow Podzolic (RYP) of used forest and rubber plantation soils media. Evaluation on the effectiveness was conducted toward the AMF isolates produced from a single spore culture on those three soil types. The results showed that highest effectiveness of AMF on RYP of used forest soil media was a mixed inoculums of 3 AMF isolates Glomus sp-3a, Acaulospora sp-3a and Acaulospora sp-5a; whereas on RYP of used rubber plantation soil media was single inoculums of AMF Glomus sp-3b.
