Abstract

Land of coal post-mining is the critical area that generally can not be cultivated due to low levels of fertility of the land, so this land becomes slighted. One of the alternatives to overcome this problem is through inoculation with Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Fungi (AMF). Indigenous AMF (from coal post-mining location) is more potential AMF developing in that area. Therefore, isolation, characterization and purification steps of AMF spores are required. The objective of this study was to isolate, characterize, and purify of arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi from coal post mining area. The study had identified that at this soil was found 3 AMF genus i.e. Glomus, Acaulospora, and Gigaspora. On coal post-mining soil was found 20 strains of AMF (13 strains of Glomus, 3 strains of Acaulospora, and 1 strain of Gigaspora). In this soil was dominated by Glomus. Strain’s AMF that was successful isolated from single spore culture was 9 strains i.e. 8 Glomus strains and 1 Acaulospora strains.
