Abstract

Wulandari, Rizki, 2020. Code Mixing in Daily Conversation Used in Daily Vlog: A Thesis, Language and Literature Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Jambi University Keywords: Code Mixing The purposes of this study are to find the types of code mixing that often used in daily conversation in daily vlog by some vloggers and the reasons behind the used of code mixing itself. The data were gathered through some analysis of several videos of vlog on youtube that involved 4 vloggers and only one video that used for this study. The video was observed, transcribed, and analyzed to find the code mixing that happened in that and then the data were differentiated by 3 types using Muskeen theory. After finding the types of code mixing then the data were analyzed again to find the factor that affect the used of code mixing in the daily conversation. The result of this study shows that the type that usually used by vlogger in daily conversation is Alteration or when structures of two languages are alternated indistinctively both of the grammatical and lexical levels. The factors that usually affected the most to use the code mixing in conversation were Participants and Role Relationship and Message Intrinsic.
