The implementation of an effective debate method in learning begins with the following steps: Compiling a controversial statement related to the learning topic. The choice of this statement is very important and should be made as attractive as possible so that it lures students to be interested and active in the learning process. Explain the procedures for conducting debates, reminding them to be kind and polite when expressing opinions. Divide the class into two debate teams. Manage the division of the “pro” group to one group and the “contra” position to another. Pay attention to the time or duration of arguing or speaking. After finishing the debate, there is no need to determine the winner. The teacher has a very important role, namely as a facilitator, motivator and evaluator of learning. Supporting facilities and infrastructure are also critical factors for the success of the learning process.
