Abstract
The standard of learning competence of Animal Taxonomy is that students are required to understand and explain the principles of classification, description, identification, nomenclature, taxa assessment on Animal Taxonomy and knowing the special character of the animal. Many students still do not know the scientific name of the animals in the neighborhood, and there are still some who do not understand how the classification and writing of scientific names is still a lot wrong. The development model applied in this research is the ADDIE model. The media that has been produced is then validated by media design experts and material experts to find out the suitability and feasibility of the developed product. Research subjects consisted of small group trial subjects, large groups and trials of lecturers who taught the subject of Animal Taxonomy. The result of validation by the media expert as much as three times obtained the final percentage of 93,7% (very good) and validation by expert material as much as three times obtained by percentage 86,7% (very good). Validated media magic discs were then tested to small groups (12 people) and large groups (36 people). The results of small and large group testing obtained the final percentage for the subjects of the fourth semester test that is 80% and 92.1% (very good) while for the final percentage of the subject of the semester VI trial is 89.5% and 86.3% with very good criteria. Further test results by 2 lecturers of animal taxonomic subjects obtained the final percentage of 88.7% (very good). Thus it can be concluded that the product of learning media magic disc Vertebrata material including criteria very well, so that can be used by student in learning activity to understand more about Vertebrata material.
