Abstract

Oil Palm Decanter Meal (OPDM) samples was collected, diluted in sterilised distilled water and spread onto NA media. One single colony was taken out, streaked and reincubated at 30°C for 24-48h. Each single pure isolate bacterium was characterised based on staining and non staining Gram reaction. The boiling method was applied for DNA extraction. The 16S rRNA sequence coding region was amplified by PCR. Fragments of 16S rRNA gene were also restricted online in BLAST to compare the experimentally obtained previous results and theoretical ones. The 4 selected isolates, B1, B2, B5 and B7 belong to Kocuria sp., Bacillus subtillis, Bacillus megaterium and Paenibacillus nanensis respectively and the maximum identity of all samples and information were between 99-100%.
