Abstract

This study aimed to determine the description of red chili farming in Kumpeh District, to analyze the factors that influence the production of red chili in one growing season in Kumpeh District. The location selection was done purposively. From Kumpeh District, Mekar Sari and Maju Jaya Villages were selected, which are active villages in producing sustainable red chili. This research was conducted from November to December 2020. The data analysis methods used were descriptive and quantitative methods. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method used is descriptive analysis, multiple linear function analysis. The number of sample farmers in this study were 118 people divided into 45 people from Maju Jaya Village and 73 people from Mekar Sari Village. From the results of the study it can be seen that (1) The use of several production factors in the research area is still not according to the recommended recommendations, so that the production produced is still below the 2019 national productivity of 9,101 kg / ha while the average production in the study area is only 7,148.06 kg / ha . (2) Variables of planting area, seeds, KCL fertilizer, SP36 fertilizer, manure, and liquid pesticides have a significant effect on the production of red chilies at the 95% confidence level. (3) The variables of NPK fertilizer, solid pesticides and labor have no significant effect on red chili production. Keywords: Production, Red Chili
