Abstract
Firdayanti, R. D., (2020). Code-Mixing Realized by Gita Savitri Devi in Youtube Channel. The thesis of English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Jambi University in Academic Year 2019/2020. The first supervisor is Dr. Dra. Rachmawati, M.Pd. The second supervisor is Dr Reli Handayani, S.S., M.Pd. The purpose of the study is to analyze the types and reasons of codemixing realized by Gita Savitri Devi in Youtube Channel. The data were gathered by observing one video posted by Gita Savitri Devi. The speaker involved is Gita Savitri Devi who mixed languages between Bahasa Indonesia and English in her video. The video was transcribed and coded based on the types and reasons for code-mixing. The result of this study shows the type of code-mixing realized by the speaker is intra-sentential with 58 out of 68 total data and followed by intralexical with 9 data. Meanwhile, for the reasons of code-mixing, it is found that talking about a particular topic is the most common reason with 64 data. Being emphatic about something has 3 data out of 68 total data and it followed by repetition with 1 datum as the least common reason for code-mixing realized by Gita Savitri in Youtube Channel.
