Abstract
The aim of this research was to know and describe the students perception on the use of animation video media in teaching vocabulary to 7th graded students in SMPN 14 Jambi City. The subject of this research was 6 students of 7th graded class. The method of this research was case study design. The data collecting procedures was using interview. After interview was conducted, researcher analyze the data by using Matthew B. Miles and A. Michael Huberman pattern. There were three steps; data reduction, data display and conclusion. The result of this research showed: (1) Students were giving positive responses and good perception on the use of animation video in teaching vocabulary and (2) The advantages of using animation video media in teaching vocabulary were first make students easier to memorize the material presented by the teacher, Making the classroom atmosphere less boring, Reduces sleepiness of the students while learning vocabulary, and the last Improve the quality of student learning outcomes.
