Abstract

ABSTRACT Pregitha, S. (2020). The Use of Ruangguru for Students in Learning English. Thesis. English Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Universitas Jambi in Academic Year 2019/2020. The first supervisor is Prof. Amirul Mukminin, S.Pd., M.Sc. Ed., Ph.D. The second supervisor is Mr. Eddy Haryanto, S, Pd., Msc.Ed.,MPP. This research aims to know about the benefits on the use of Ruangguru for students in learning English in class IXH of SMP N 17 Jambi City Academic Year 2019/2020. 8 students in class IXH of SMP N 17 Jambi City and the teachers who teach in Ruangguru were selected as the participant in this research. The method of this research is qualitative research. Overall, the students' perceptions on the use of Ruangguru for students in learning English were good. Based on the research there were two conclusions. First, Ruangguru can improve students skills in English especially in grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading. Second, all of the students and teachers had positive perceptions on the use of Ruangguru in learning English. Ruangguru is a tools of online learning application which is very useful, interesting and good. Keywords: Tutoring, Online tutoring, Ruangguru
