Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of china violet on soil aggregate stability of Ultisol and to identify the appropriate dose of china violet to increase the the soil aggregate stability of Ultisol. The experiment was conducted at the experimental station of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jambi. The polybag treatments were arranged in a completely rondomized design consisting of 5 treatments giving of china violet 0 %, 0.25 %, 0.50 %, 0.75 %, and 1.00 %. Observed variables including soil organic matter content, soil bulk density, soil total porosity, percent soil aggregation, and soil aggregate stability. The results of study showed that the application of china violet can improve the soil aggregate stabilityof Ultisol. The best result was achieved by application of 1 % of china violet equal to 20 Mg ha-1 of china violet.
