Abstract

This research was developmental research that aimed to develop animation video as supplementary media in learning English vocabulary for young learners. The videos are designed using the ADDIE model from Robert Maribe Branch. The phases started from analysing the learning environment, analysing students’ need through questionnaire, designing the product, developing the animation video, and validating video from material expert and media expert. The participants of the product were teachers from the seventh grade and 217 students of eight classes. Based on the result of the validation consisted of both experts’ opinion, those experts categorized the media as good and can be try out to the students of seventh grade, the quizzes in this video are also diverse. This video learning can be used as a guide for lecturers and students in the learning process in class for face-to-face learning with the guidance of the teacher (as facilitator) and independent learning where students can do the exercises, questions and tasks contained in this video learning alone or with friends outside of the class.
