Abstract

The background to this research is the importance of documenting and inventorying Kerinci's traditional community expressions as a form of preserving the dangers of Kerinci Malay. The purpose of this research is to describe the form and meaning of Kerinci traditional expressions used in everyday life as a means of informal education and social control. The method or approach used is a qualitative approach that prioritizes the sharpness of analysis of data. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there are 125 forms of documented expressions. These expressions are in the form of personalities, proverbs, and figures.
