Abstract
Sumatera Island is one Indonesia Islands with relative high female population growth. One of the problems faced in employment in Indonesia is the lower level of female labor force participation compared to men. This study aims to further analyze the influence of independent variables in the form of the number of women age of more than 15 years old, housewife and provincial minimum wages on the dependent variable, the participation rate of the women’s labor force in Sumatera. The study uses secondary data obtained from the Statistics Bureau and the State of the Indonesian Workforce between 2012-2017, analyzed using a panel data regression method (a combination of cross section and time series data). The study found that minimum provincial wage has a significant effect on women’s level of work participation.
