Abstract
Diarrhea is one of the leading causes of illness and second leading causes of death in the world after pneumonia among preschooler. One factor that may associate with diarrhea is the water source that has been used to make formula milk. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between water sources used for making formula milk and the incidence of diarrhea in preschooler. This research is a quantitative descriptive study in Kenali Besar District, Jambi City using consecutive sampling of 67 respondents. The results showed that the incidence of diarrhea in toddler using refill water sources used for making formula milk was 26 respondents (45.6%) and 31 respondents (54.4%) did not suffer from diarrhea, as well as the incidence of diarrhea in preschooler who use other water sources to make formula milk as many as 8 respondents (80%) and preschooler who do not suffer from diarrhea as many as 2 respondents (20%). There is a significant relationship between the incidence of diarrhea in preschooler and the water sources used for making formula milk (p = 0.045). Keywords: diarrhea, water sources, formula milk
