Abstract

This article was a part of the community service program in 2020. This event held based on the existence of archaeological sites, Solok Sipin Temple Sites in Kelurahan Legok and surrounding village in Kota Jambi. Based on the current situation, Solok Sipin Temple Site are one of the threatened archaeological sites. The main threat of the Solok Sipin Temple Site is the lack of awareness of the local community. Therefore this community service program is carried out as an effort to strengthen local community awareness toward the existence of the Solok Sipin Temple Sites. Kelurahan Legok has Rumah Batik and some batik maker as a potential resources to provide assistance for preserving and developing batik motif based on reliefs and ornaments from Solok Sipin Temple remains. The specific target is to increase awareness of surrounding people and encourage them to play an active role in preserving Solok Sipin Temple sites. This activity consists of 3 stages, the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results are 5 new batik motifs inspired from reliefs and ornaments elements from Solok Sipin. From the created batik motifs it is expected that the motif itself can become the pride and special trait of Kelurahan Legok. As for the long-term prospect, the batik with this special motifs can be the speciality products/featured products from Kelurahan Legok
