ABSTRACT Mahyudin, 2021.Teacher’sProblems in Selecting Instructional Media in Teaching English at Islamic Junior High School Darul Arifin Jambi. ThesisGraduate Program of English Education Jambi University.The First Supervisor Hadiyanto, M. Ed., Ph. D and the Second Supervisor Eddy Hariyanto, M. Sc.Ed., Ph.D. This research aims to analyze Teacher’s problems in selecting instructional media in teaching English at Islamic Junior High School Darul Arifin Jambi, involving six participants (1 teacher and 5 students). This qualitative research, employed observations, interviews and documentations to collect data. Finding of this research revealed that the teacher’s problems in selecting instructional media in teaching English at Islamic Junior High School Darul Arifin Jambi they were; lack of motivation in selecting instructional media where the teacher is not motivated in selecting instructional media as primary so media is also not exits while teaching and learning process; lack of experience and background, where the teacher is worried to use media such as Projector, Laptop and Speaker, she does not have good skill about media, she is afraid when she tried to use the media; lack of time, where the teacher had limited time in teaching English, so she did not use media for teaching and learning English; lack of technical support, where the teacher felt pressure from the headmaster to use technology when she teaches the students, whereas the teacher is not given guidance in using instructional media; and lack of physical structure and instructional media resource wherethe school has enough facilities, but the teacher used the picture, papers and book and the teacher likes to teach the simple one.
