Abstract

Background : Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder in the airways caused by several factors such as allergens, weather changes, stress / anxiety and emotions, environment, activity. Efforts that can be made to control asthma attacks are by knowing the trigger factors for an asthma attack. Objective: To determine the relationship between anxiety levels and asthma attacks in asthma patients. Method : Using a scoping review approach that uses several sources selected based on inclusion criteria that have been set by researchers with a literature search database using the Garuda Portal, Google Scholar, Elsevier and Pubmed. The keywords used are anxiety, asthma. The criteria for selecting literature are original full paper research articles published in 2010-2020 using Indonesian or English. Results : Based on the search results obtained 10 research articles that meet the criteria of the total articles obtained, namely 4789 articles. The results of the article review found that there were 9 articles which stated that there was a significant relationship between anxiety and asthma attacks in asthmatic patients and there was 1 article stating that anxiety and asthma attacks were not significant factors. Conclusion : Many factors influence the occurrence of asthma attacks, one of the triggering factors for asthma attacks is anxiety, from the 10 articles analyzed, anxiety is a significant factor in the occurrence of asthma attacks.
