Abstract
PT Bukit Asam, Tbk is a mining company engaged in coal mining. PT Bukit Asam one of them is by using blasting method for rock breaking process. Blasting is a stage in mineral mining to extract rocks from parent rocks, making it easier to excavate and loading. PT Bukit Asam, Tbk also conducts blasting activities to extract andesite rocks at the tapuan hill location. The excavation and loading of the stone was carried out with a Komatsu PC 200 excavator whose bucket capacity was 1 m3 and transport was carried out with Hino trucks with a capacity of 12 tons. Andesite crushing process using jaw crusher. Based on the size of the bait crusher for material that can be processed a maximum of 60 cm. To achieve the production target of crusher units, it will be optimal if the fragmentation result of blasting is less than 60 cm with a pass percentage of 90%. Image Analysis method is a method to calculate the distribution of fragmentation of rocks resulting from blasting based on photo muckpile blasting. Wipfrag software shows that fragmentation of blasting results is less optimal because the percentage of fragmentation of rock blasting smaller than 60 cm only reaches 79.49%. Redesign of blasting geometry is the solution to increase the fragmentation of blasting rocks. Calculation of proposed geometry design using Ash, Konya and ICI-Explosive methods. Predicted fragmentation of blasting results from the proposed geometry using the Kuz-Ram model. The blasting geometry of Ash, Konya and ICI-Explosive resulted in fragmentation sizes smaller than 60 cm with pass percentages of 93%, 95% and 94% respectively.
