Abstract
Background : The Talang Gulo Final Disposal Site (TPA) located on the South Ring Road, Kenali Asam Bawah Village, Kota Baru District, is the final waste disposal center that accommodates all waste in the city and its surroundings. TPA Talang Gulo operates with an open dumping/controlled landfill system so that groundwater will be polluted by leachate that is absorbed into the ground and has the potential to contaminate the surrounding well water. This study aims to determine the effect of leachate on the quality of well water around the Talang Gulo TPA settlement. Methods : This type of research is a quantitative cross sectional design. With a sample of 1 leachate and 49 well water. Determination of the sampling point is between 0-300 m, 301-600 m, and 601-900 m. Sampling by means of Grab Sampling. Data collection was carried out in situ and laboratory tests. The results obtained were compared with the quality standard requirements and analyzed using the Pollutant Index (IP) method. Results : The results showed that leachate from the Talang Gulo TPA had an effect on the COD and pH parameters on the quality of well water with an average IP quality status of = 1.31 in the lightly polluted category, while the distance from the TPA had an effect on the pH parameters on the quality of well water with an average IP quality status. averaged at a distance of 0-300 m, 301-600 m, and 601-900 m with an average value = 1.60, 1.26, and 1.20, all of which are still classified as light pollution. Conclusion : There is an influence of leachate on COD parameters and there is a pH of the effect of landfill distance on pH parameters on the quality of well water around the Talang Gulo TPA settlement in Jambi City.
