Abstract
Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu P0 = Fermentasi silase komplit selama 0 hari, P1 = Fermentasi silase komplit selama 7 hari, P2 = Fermentasi silase komplit selama 14 hari, P3 = Fermentasi silase komplit selama 21 hari. This study aims to determine the effect of complete silage fermentation time from cabbage waste and probiotics on the in vitro gas production profile. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were P0 = Complete silage fermentation for 0 days, P1 = Complete silage fermentation for 7 days, P2 = Complete silage fermentation for 14 days, P3 = Complete silage fermentation for 21 days. The variables observed in this study were the value of potential gas production (b value), the value of gas production rate (c value) and total silage gas. Data were analyzed by using analysis of variance with further test of Orthogonal Polynomial. The results showed that the treatment had a very significant effect (P≤0.01) on the value of gas production potential (b value), the value of gas production rate (c value) and total silage gas. From the orthogonal polynomial test, a linear relationship was obtained between fermentation time and the value of gas production potential (b), while for the value of gas production rate (c) and total gas, a quadratic relationship was obtained. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the longer the fermentation, the value of b and the production of total silage gas also increases, while the value of c will decrease. The optimum point of fermentation time in increasing total gas production is in the p3 treatment with total gas production of 105.915 ml and the highest total gas production characteristics in the p1 treatment of 7 days of fermentation time of 113.21 (ml/hour).
