Abstract
ABSTRAK Ranto, Tomal 2017, Makna dan Fungsi Pemakaian Ungkapan Dalam Bahasa Batak Simalungun Pada Upacara Adat Masyarakat Simalungun di Kota Jambi : Skripsi, Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa dan Seni FKIP Universitas Jambi, Pembimbing; (1) Prof. H, Yundi Fitrah, Drs. The objectives to be achieved in this research are to; Decrypt the meaning of the phrase in the simalungun language on which is used in the ceremony of the simalungun community in the city simalungun at the ceremony of the community simalungun in the city of Jambi Methods This research is descriptive - qualitative. The data in this research is a phrase contained in the simalungun language that is used when the traditional ceremony at the Simalungun community in the city of Jambi. Data collection techniques in this study using the technique Simak Libat Capable. In addition, it is necessary to record technique, and record through audiovisual. The data obtained were analyzed by using the method of distribution (structural) for the expression data itself. To ensure the validity of the research data, then performed a validity checking data that is by the native speakers intropeksi techniques and techniques triangulation The results of this research are; The meaning of the phrase in the simalungun language contains meaning that uses the atmosphere of sadness or sorrow and the meaning of joy or joy. The phrase used in the ceremony of the Seven Months, birth, marriage, death, entering new house as well as various other traditional ceremonies The conclusion of the research is that the meaning of expression in Simalungun language can be interpreted based on grammatical meaning and implied meaning of a phrase. The meaning contained in an expression implied thoroughly from a unified word as well as a builder phrase an expression. The phrase function in Simalungun serves to provide advice Suggestions that can be put forward is that the Batak community Simalungun presumably still use the expression as a means of providing advice and simultaneously preserve Simalungun culture. The use of the phrase would be not only in traditional ceremonies, but in everyday life can also be applied
