Abstract
ABSTRAK Based on the observation in the fourth grade of SD Negeri 47 / IV of Jambi City, that the lessons learned especially the science lesson are still many students who are less active during the learning process, do not pay attention to the teacher when explaining, the use of learning model is only lecturing and assignment so that learning is passive. The purpose of this study to determine the use of Group Investigation model in improving the activity of fourth grade students SD Negeri 47 / IV Jambi City.This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK). Where every cycle includes planning, execution, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted on February 13th until March 04 of Lesson Year 2016/2017. The observed indicators of the students are: (1) visual activity, attention to peer explanations, (2) oral activities, express opinions / ideas in group discussions or in front of the class, (3) listening, listening to the opinions of friends of other groups or groups 4) writing activities, compiling reports of group and individual discussions, (5) mental activities, drawing conclusions.The result of this research shows that student activity improvement is significant in cycle I from 58,54% and then increase again in cycle II 80,12% in active category. Increased liveliness is appropriate on the indicator. Researchers have used Group investigation model in accordance with the planned so as to improve student activeness. Based on the observation in cycle II, this research has been said successful because it has reached the predetermined success criteria.The conclusion of this research is Group Investigation model can improve students' activity on the content of science lesson grade IV SD Negeri 47 / IV Kota Jambi. Model Group Investigation included in the category is very valid to improve student activeness. Keywords: Student Activity and Model Group Investigation
