Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the effect of population, human development index (IPM), open unemployment rate (TPT) and economic growth on poverty levels in the districts/cities of Jambi province. Which aims to describe and to measure and analyze the Influence of Population, Human Development Index (IPM), Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) and Economic Growth on Poverty Levels in Kab/City Jambi Province. The type of data used in this study is secondary data by combining time series data and cross section data from 2010-2019. The data used were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Jambi Province. The analytical method used is panel data regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that the highest poverty rate occurs in Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency, this is due to the slowing economic movement and the inequality of social welfare is still high because the exploitation of oil and gas has decreased significantly. The lowest poverty rate is Sungai Penuh City because it has the smallest population due to the expansion of Kerinci Regency so that many poor people remain in Kerinci Regency. Variable Population Number, Human Development Index and Open Unemployment Rate have no significant effect on poverty. Meanwhile, the Economic Growth Variable has a significant influence on the Poverty Level. And together the variables of Population, Human Development Index, Open Unemployment Rate and Economic Growth have a significant effect on the Poverty Level.
