Abstract

Avian Influenza Virus (AI) or often known as Bird Flu. So it is necessary to detect chicken antibody titers against AI Virus which requires serological testing. Detection of Avian Influenza Virus antibody titer was carried out at the Virology Laboratory of the Veterinary Center Bukittinggi. The detection of Avian Influenza Virus antibody titer was carried out using a chicken cloacal swab inoculated on 9-11 days old embryonic chicken egg media. Samples inoculated on embryonic chicken egg were incubated at a temperature of 35-37 and allantoic fluid was harvested after 4-5 days. Then the Hemaglutination Assey (HA) test was carried out after getting the HA test results, then continued with the Hemaglutination Inhibition (HI) test where the sample was diluted with 4 HA antigen units and added Chicken Red Blood cells, then let stand at room temperature for 50-60 minutes. A total of 293 samples from 6 sub-districts in Kampar Regency, Riau Province obtained negative results. Most likely this happened because local officials had not carried out vaccination activities against the Avian Influenza Virus.
