Abstract
SUMMARY Avian Influenza (AI) or better known as bird flu is caused by an influenza virus that mutates into a pathogen. This activity aims to detect the presence of AI virus in chickens that will be sent out of Jambi province. The HA (Haemaglutination Assay) and HI (Haemaglutination Inhibition) tests are tests that aim to detect antibodies to the Avian Influenza virus. The material used was 15 samples of chicken blood serum. AI antigen (standard), PBS and RBC 1%. The principle of the HA test is agglutination which aims to measure the antigen titer and the principle of the HI test is hemagglutination which aims to measure the antibody titer. The results of the HA test for the determination of the AI 4 HAU antigen titer were 160 l at the 2^6 dilution and 320 l at the 2^7 dilution. The results of the HI test averaged titer values of 2^2 and 2^(3), which showed that of the 15 samples of chicken blood serum examined, they did not contain antibody titers against the Avian Influenza virus. It can be concluded that the chicken has never been exposed to the Avian influenza virus.
