Abstract
The purpose of this research is how the implementation of the Jambi City government in dealing with the implementation of smoking-free areas, and what are the obstacles in carrying out the implementation of the no-smoking area policy in Jambi City. This study uses qualitative research methods, research with this method describes a complex symptom or picture that occurs today observing people with their environment, interacting with them, trying to understand their language and interpretation of the world around them. Data collection techniques taken from this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study show that Jambi City has a special regulation to deal with the problem of smoking-free areas in Jambi City, namely Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2017 concerning no-smoking areas in Jambi City. Where the regulation is coordinated by the party in charge of securing perpetrators who do not follow the rules. In the implementation of the regulation, there are many pros and cons because there are still those who violate the no-smoking area, such as uneven socialization and many people do not know the no-smoking area. The reason the community violates the smoking-free area regulation is because the only smoking area regulation is only a regulation and there is no direction from the government in the form of providing a smoking area and an unclear place where the special position for a smoking-free area is mentioned in the Regional Regulation.
