Abstract

Indonesia kaya akan sumber daya genetik ayam lokal. Salah satu ayam lokal yang potensial untuk dikembangkan dalam pemenuhan protein asal hewani adalah ayam Sentul. Keragaman ayam Sentul masih tergolong tinggi, sehingga perlu dilakukan seleksi dalam rangka memperbaiki mutu genetiknya. Seleksi dapat dilakukan terhadap sifat-sifat yang bernilai ekonomis diantaranya bobot telur, bobot badan dan pertambahan bobot badan. Di samping itu, sebaiknya seleksi dilakukan pada umur yang lebih dini dengan melihat hubungan antar variabel. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk: mengetahui hubungan bobot telur dengan bobot DOC dan bobot DOC dengan bobot badan ayam Sentul pada umur 1, 2, 3, dan 4 bulan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 27 November sampai tanggal 27 Februari di Farm dan Unit Bisnis Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Jambi. Materi penelitian ini adalah ayam Sentul G1 sebanyak 174 ekor yang terdiri dari 68 ekor jantan dan 106 ekor betina diperoleh dari penetasan 315 butir telur. Metode penelitian adalah metode eksprimen. Peubah yang diamati meliputi: bobot telur, bobot badan umur DOC- 4 bulan, Pertambahan Bobot Badan (PBB). Bobot telur, bobot badan umur DOC, 1, 2, 3 dan 4 bulan serta PBB umur umur DOC-1, 1-2, 2-3 dan 3-4 bulan antara jantan dan betina di analisis menggunakan Uji-t. Hubungan dan keeratan hubungan bobot telur dengan bobot DOC dan bobot DOC dengan bobot badan ayam Sentul di analisis menggunakan regresi dan korelasi. Pengolahan data dibantu menggunakan perangkat lunak statistika Minitab versi 18. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bobot telur ayam Sentul yang menghasilkan DOC dengan jenis kelamin jantan berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) dengan bobot telur yang menghasilkan DOC dengan jenis kelamin betina. Rataan bobot badan dan PBB ayam Sentul jantan G1 berbeda nyata (P<0,05) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan ayam Sentul betina G1. PBB periode umur 2-3 bulan berbeda nyata (P<0,05) lebih tinggi dibandingkan periode umur DOC- 1, 1-2 dan 3-4 bulan. Analisis regresi bobot telur ayam Sentul berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot DOC ayam Sentul dengan nilai korelasi jantan dan betina yaitu 0,915 dan 0,892 dan nilai determinasi (r2) jantan dan betina = 0,837 %, 0,795%. Analisis regresi bobot DOC berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot badan ayam Sentul umur 1, 2, 3 dan 4 bulan. Nilai korelasi r = 0,892, 0,794, 0,757, 0,539 untuk jantan dan 0,993, 0,859, 0,735, 0,527 untuk betina. Nilai determinasi (r2) bobot DOC dengan bobot badan umur 1, 2, 3 dan 4 bulan adalah 79,6%, 63%, 57,3%, 29,1%, untuk jantan dan 98,6%, 73,8%, 54%, 27,7% untuk betina. Kesimpulan:1. Rataan bobot telur, bobot badan dan PBB ayam Sentul jantan G1 lebih baik dibandingkan ayam Sentul betina G1. 2. PBB tertinggi dicapai pada umur 2-3 bulan. 3. Hubungan Bobot telur dengan bobot DOC dan bobot DOC dengan bobot badan ayam Sentul terdapat hubungan positif. 4. Secara parsial nilai korelasi tertinggi antara bobot DOC dengan bobot badan dicapai pada umur 1 bulan sebesar 0,892 untuk jantan dan 0,993 untuk betina. Indonesia is rich in local chicken genetic resources. One of the local chickens that has the potential to be developed in the fulfillment of protein from animal origin is Sentul chicken. Sentul chicken diversity is still relatively high, so it is necessary to make a selection in order to improve its genetic quality. Selection can be made on traits that have economic value including egg weight, body weight and body weight gain. In addition, the selection should be done at an earlier age by looking at the relationship between variables. The purpose of this study was to: determine the relationship between egg weight and DOC weight and DOC weight and body weight of Sentul chickens at 1, 2, 3, and 4 months of age. This research was conducted from 27 November to 27 February at the Farm and Business Unit of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Jambi University. The research material was Sentul G1 chickens as many as 174 consisting of 68 males and 106 females obtained from hatching 315 eggs. The research method is an experimental method. The observed variables included: egg weight, body weight at DOC-4 months of age, body weight gain (PBB). Egg weight, body weight at DOC 1, 2, 3 and 4 months and PBB at DOC-1, 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 months age between males and females were analyzed using the t-test. The relationship and close relationship between egg weight and DOC weight and DOC weight with Sentul chicken body weight were analyzed using regression and correlation. Data processing was assisted using Minitab statistical software version 18. The results of this study showed that the egg weights of Sentul chickens producing DOC with male sex were not significantly different (P>0.05) with egg weights producing DOC with female sex. The average body weight and PBB of male Sentul chickens G1 were significantly different (P<0.05) higher than that of female Sentul chickens G1. The PBB for the 2-3 month age period was significantly different (P<0.05) higher than the DOC-1, 1-2 and 3-4 months age period.Regression analysis of Sentul chicken egg weight had a significant effect (P<0.05) on Sentul chicken DOC weight with male and female correlation values ​​0.915 and 0.892 and determination value (r2) male and female = 0.837 %, 0.795%. Regression analysis of DOC weight had a significant effect (P<0.05) on body weight of Sentul chickens aged 1, 2, 3 and 4 months. The correlation value r = 0.892, 0.794, 0.757, 0.539 for males and 0.993, 0.859, 0.735, 0.527 for females. The value of determination (r2) of DOC weights with body weights aged 1, 2, 3 and 4 months were 79.6%, 63%, 57.3%, 29.1%, for males and 98.6%, 73.8% , 54%, 27.7% for females. Conclusion:1. The average egg weight, body weight and PBB of G1 male Sentul chickens were better than G1 female Sentul chickens. 2. The highest PBB is achieved at the age of 2-3 months. 3. There is a positive relationship between egg weight and DOC weight and DOC weight with Sentul chicken body weight. 4. Partially the highest correlation value between DOC weight and body weight was achieved at the age of 1 month of 0.892 for males and 0.993 for females.
