Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to analyze how much community acceptance is in the area of former forest and land fires fires. The data used in this thesis are primary data and secondary data. In Indonesia, peat forest fires are the biggest contributor to haze pollution. These fires are mainly the result of land clearing for oil palm plantations. The most severe impact felt by many parties due to the burning is the smog pollution which disrupts various aspects of life. Disruption of human activities due to forest fires can also affect productivity and income. When the smoke spread, trade and school activities in the area around the fire had to be stopped and closed. This cripples economic activity for many low-income families and jeopardizes them from falling further into poverty. The loss was due to the cessation of all kinds of economic activity for some time. The loss of livelihoods belonging to indigenous peoples around the forest and peatland fire areas also contributed to the level of livelihood of families with poor family backgrounds or lower economic classes becoming increasingly difficult and suffering in meeting their daily needs.
