Abstract

ABSTRACT Reka Novera, 2021. Designing Vocabulary Application for Senior High School Student. Thesis. English Education Study Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education of Jambi University in Academic Year 2020/2021. The first supervisor is Dr. Dra. Yelia, M.Pd. The second supervisor is Dedy Kurniawan, S.S, M.A. This research was aimed to designing vocabulary application for senior high school student. The design of this research was Research and Development by following Lee and Owens (2004) model of multimedia development. The steps were Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The data were analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research were collected by using interview. The participant of the product was English Teacher of SMAN 11 Muaro Jambi. Based on the result of the teacher point of view about students’ needs, the researcher designed a flash-based vocabulary application for online classes and the results were then examined for research conclusions on how to design a vocabulary teaching tool application for tenth graders, which is a learning media to help students to learn vocabulary in English lessons for online class. This application can be used as a guide for teachers and students in the learning process in class for face-to-face or online learning with the guidance of the teacher (as facilitator) and independent learning where students can use this application for learning vocabulary.
