Abstract
This study aims to develop the theoretical basis of the conceptual model of the main constructs, namely the variables of Learning Culture (BB), Work Autonomy (OK), Creative Environment (LK) to predict the factors that affect Innovation Capacity (KI) in the context of Islamic Boarding Schools in Jambi City. This research model is the development of an innovative school structural model by McCharen, Song & Martens (2011). The researcher rebuilds the variable construct model by proposing fourteen hypotheses. In addition, this study also tested whether there were differences based on demographic information (gender, age, teaching experience, and education) involving all variables. Researchers using quantitative methods with a cross-sectional survey design, 425 Islamic Boarding School Educators in Jambi City completed a printed offline and online questionnaire form. Several CB-SEM statistical procedures were used for analysis, namely Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) used to test the hypothesis, and MANOVA to test the Difference Test. The findings inform that the proposed research model is valid and reliable. Hypothesis testing with Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling resulted in six accepted hypotheses and four rejected hypotheses due to the t statistic (<1.96). The findings of the MANOVA difference test resulted in a significant difference only in the difference in education factors. This study has examined the influence of complex structures in the context of educational organizations, namely Modern Islamic Boarding Schools in Jambi City. The structural influence model in this study is found in many types of organizations, but some aspects are found to be different and appear to be unique between Pesantren education and other public schools. Therefore, to capture more realistic phenomena and dynamic relationships in the Pesantren system, a qualitative research is highly recommended that includes longitudinal observations and more intensive behavior-oriented interviews.
