Abstract
ABSTRAK Writing is an aspect of the latest skills and difficult to master so that writing activities in schools are still less attractive by students. Based on the observations at SMP 11 Jambi city, grade VIII D students are still learning about advertisement text while other classes have entered the material of the text of the exposition. This study aims to describe: (1) the ability to write advertisement based on the structure aspects of ad text class VIII D SMP 11 Kota Jambi city (2) the ability to write advertisement based on aspects of linguistic rules text ad students of class VIII D SMP 11 Jambi city. The approach used is a quantitative approach. The type of research used is descriptive research. The subjects of the research are the students of class VIII D SMP 11Jambi city, amounting to 38 people. The research data is the ability to write ad class VIII D State Junior High School 11 Kota Jambi in terms of two aspects of the structure of ad text and linguistic rules of ad text. The source of this research data is the result of writing the students of class VIII D SMP 11 Jambi city. Data collection techniques used observation techniques, measurement techniques and documentation techniques. Research instrument in the form of performance test. Data analysis techniques use statistics. The results of this study indicate that 1) the ability to write advertisement based on aspects of the ad structure with an average value of 75 including the category capable 2) the ability to write advertisement based on aspects of the linguistic rules of the ad text with an average value of 79.60 including the category capable. In general, the ability to write ad class VIII D State Junior High School 11 Kota Jambi with an average value of 77.36 including the category capable. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the quality of writing skills ad class VIII D SMP 11 Jambi city is in the category very capable. Suggestions for this research are 1) so that SMP 11 teachers can improve and improve ad writing writing on aspects of the structure of ad text, aspects of ad text statement are persuative, rhyming and poetic aspects of word choice, and language aspects of advertising give a positive impression. 2) so that the students of grade VIII D can improve their understanding of writing writing lessons. 3) so that other researchers can use this as a reference source.
