Irawan, Silfi Karindri, 2021. Paralinguistic Features on Tweets Posted by Korean-Pop Roleplayers on Twitter. A Thesis, Language and Arts Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Jambi University. Under the supervision of Drs. Adrefiza, M.A. Ph.D. and Dedy Kurniawan, S.S., MA. Key Words: Computer-Mediated Communication, Internet Language, Paralinguistic Features in Written Communication, Language Function, and K-Pop Role-play This study aims to find out and explore about paralinguistic features in written communication and language function in text form based on its purposes. The data was taken from tweets made by six participants who were chosen as sample of this study by applying purposive sampling to make sure that they fit to the criteria needed for this study. The data here examined one by one to see what types of paralingguistic features and language functions were found. The results show there are seven out of eight types of paralinguistic features found in the data according to Thurlow's theory. These types of paralinguistic features can clearly be used in written language since the community members of K-Pop roleplayers are usually used written text based to communicate with one and another. In addition, six types of language functions have been found in each tweets, in according to Jakobson's theory.
