Abstract

PERTUMBUHAN SETEK PUCUK KAKAO (Theobroma cacao L.) PADA BERBAGAI KONSENTRASI AIR KELAPA Selvy Andriani¹), Neliyati²), Miranti Sari Fitriani²) ¹)Alumni Jurusan/Program Studi Agroekoteknologi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi ²)Staf Pengajar Program Studi Agroekoteknologi Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jambi Email : selvyandriani09@gmail.com ABSTRAK Indonesia sebagai salah satu produsen kakao terbesar yang memiliki peluang untuk meningkatkan ekspor dan pasar domestik. Hal ini akan bermanfaat untuk peningkatan devisa negara jika produksi kakao bertambah. Permasalahan yang dihadapi dalam peningkatan produksi kakao adalah kebutuhan bibit dalam jumlah besar yang biasanya membutuhkan waktu yang relatif lama. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk kebutuhan bibit dalam jumlah banyak adalah menggunakan stek pucuk kakao menggunakan air kelapa sebagai zat pengatur tumbuh. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mempelajari pengaruh berbagai konsentrasi air kelapa terhadap pertumbuhan setek pucuk kakao . Penelitian menggunakan RAL dengan 5 taraf, yaitu: tanpa air kelapa, air kelapa konsentrasi 25%, air kelapa konsentrasi 50% air kelapa konsentrasi 75%, dan air kelapa 100%. Waktu perendaman yang dilakukan adalah 6 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi air kelapa tidak mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan setek pucuk kakao. Kata Kunci : Kakao, Setek Pucuk, Konsetrasi Air Kelapa, Pembibitan. ABTRACT Indonesia as one of the largest cacao producers has the opportunity to increase exports and the domestic market. This will be beneficial for increasing the country's foreign exchange if cacao production increases. The problem faced in increasing cacao production is the need for large quantities of seeds which usually takes a relatively long time. Efforts that can be made for the need for seeds in large quantities are using cacao shoot cuttings using coconut water as a growth regulator. The purpose of this research was to study the effect of various concentrations of coconut water on the growth of cacao shoot cuttings. The study used RAL with 5 levels, namely: without coconut water, 25% coconut water, 50% coconut water, 75% coconut water, and 100% coconut water. The immersion time was 6 hours. The results showed that the concentration of coconut water was not able to increase the growth of cacao shoot cuttings. Keyword : Cacao, Shoot Cuttings, Concentration of Coconut Water, Nursery
