Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari ekstrak biji tampoi (B.macrocarpa) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi yang terbaik dari ekstrak biji tampoi (B. macrocarpa) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri P. acnes. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen deskriptif. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak biji tampoi yaitu P0: Kontrol (Clindamycin 2%), P1: 25%, P2: 50%, P3: 75%, P4: 100% ekstrak biji tampoi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan analisis sidik ragam (ANOVA), apabila terdapat pengaruh perlakuan maka dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT pada taraf kepercayaan 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kontrol positif memiliki zona hambat yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan perlakuan menggunakan ekstrak biji tampoi. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak biji tampoi memiliki kandungan metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, troterpenoid dan steroid. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu konsentrasi ekstrak biji tampoi berpengaruh dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri P. acnes berdasarkan adanya zona hambat yang terbentuk. Konsentrasi yang terbaik yaitu pada kontrol positif (Clindamycin) sedangkan konsentrasi ekstrak biji tampoi (Baccaurea macrocarpa) 25% tidak berbeda nyata dengan konsentrasi 50%, 75% dan 100%. Kata Kunci : tampoi (Baccaurea macrocarpa), Propionibacterium acnes, Zona hambat, dan mikrobiologi terapan. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of tampoi seed extract (B.macrocarpa) on the growth of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria and to determine the best concentration of tampoi seed extract (B. macrocarpa) in inhibiting the growth of P. acnes bacteria. This research is a descriptive experimental research. The research design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatment concentrations of tampoi seed extract, namely P0: Control (Clindamycin 2%), P1: 25%, P2: 50%, P3: 75%, P4: 100% tampoi seed extract. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA), if there was an effect of treatment then continued with the DNMRT test at a 5% confidence level. The results showed that the positive control had a larger inhibition zone than the treatment using tampoi seed extract. Phytochemical test results showed that tampoi seed extract contains secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, troterpenoids and steroids. The conclusion of this study is that the concentration of tampoi seed extract has an effect on inhibiting the growth of P. acnes bacteria based on the presence of an inhibition zone formed. The best concentration was in the positive control (Clindamycin) while the concentration of tampoi seed extract (Baccaurea macrocarpa) 25% was not significantly different with concentrations of 50%, 75% and 100%.
