Abstract

This study aimed at finding the ELT pre-service teachers’ practices of using TPACK at internship school program and the issues that emerge during the practicum. The data in this research were collected by using in-depth interview and FGD, and were analyzed in terms of descriptive analysis. This study involved 6 ELT pre-service teachers of Universitas Jambi in the academic year 2020/2021, who had practicum located in Junior High School in Jambi city, as the participants of the research. The findings demonstrated that the participants did not fully integrate TPACK, yet they grasped and performed each of the knowledge partially. Additionally, the participants engaged technology in executing the teaching and learning process, but not that extent. The participants pointed out that the problems in applying TPACK came from low internet connection and students’ familiarity with the application, which also derived from the school readiness in utilizing technology enhanced activity in the teaching-learning process. Hence, the English education study program should give more TPACK enrichment and adequate technology integration for each stage of English proficiency.
