Abstract

ABSTRACT The drop in rubber prices made people flock to add gold. Seeing the problems and phenomena that occur to overcome problems due to illegal gold mining carried out by the community, the Merangin Regency government took the initiative to introduce and then implement the Geber Mewah program (Joint Movement to Return Ex-Coffin Land to Paddy Fields in a Participatory Way). This study aims to determine and analyze how the implementation and impact of the program in increasing the economic empowerment of the people of Pangkalan Jambu District, Merangin Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach that is field or empirical. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Geber Mewah program in Pangkalan Jambu District, Merangin Regency has not been maximized. This is because the indicators of success in implementing policies related to policy targets are still on a small scale and not yet comprehensive and the facilities are not yet adequate. In addition, the implementation of the Geber Mewah program (Joint Movement to Return Ex-Coffin Land to Paddy Fields in a Participatory way) in Pangkalan Jambu District which has an effect on community economic empowerment has made this program not yet achieved optimally.
