Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the impact of local government policies on the coal mining business license of PT Surya Global Makmur in Mandiangin District, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province. Every mining activity of a large company must have an impact, both negative and positive, and the most influential impact is on the environment. The negative impact of PT Surya Global Makmur's mining activities is environmental damage, especially air pollution, road damage, rivers polluted by B3 valleys and many more, then the positive impact is that PT Surya Global Makmur opens many job vacancies for the surrounding community. This study uses a qualitative method. Data collection is done by means of observation, documentation and interviews with companies and related agencies. The data that the researchers used in this study were primary data, both informants from the head of mining engineering at PT Surya Global Makmur, Kasih Guidance and Supervision of Mineral and Coal Enterprises, Jambi Province Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Administrator for Mineral and Rock Mining, Jambi Province Energy and Mineral Resources Office, and the community around the mine. And secondary data obtained from books, journals, theses and legislation. Keywords: Policy, Impact, Environment
