Abstract
Abstract. Biology learning has a lot of material and must be understood by students in a relatively short time. This study aims to determine the comparison of the results of biology class X SMA Negeri 6 Muaro Jambi using Problem Solving and Peer Tutoring. This type of research is Quasi experiment. The sample used consisted of 2 classes, that is experimental class I and experiment class II. The experimental class I applied the learning method Problem Solving and experiment class II applied Peer tutoring method. The result of the test which has been obtained then analyzed. Hypothesis testing will use the t-test. From the results of statistical calculations can be seen that the average value of student learning outcomes on the subject matter biology of class X students in experimental class I is greater than the value obtained in the experimental class II. where in cognitive aspect that experiment class I (79,75) is higher than for experiment class II (77,05). In the affective aspect, the result of the experimental class I (74,85) is higher than the experimental class II (71,95). For the psychomotor aspect the average value of the experimental class I (81.42) is higher than the experimental class II (80.03). Based on the t-test on the cognitive aspects obtained Tcount= 2.2039, affective of = 1.781 and psychomotor of = 0.79. At the level of 95% confidence obtained Ttab;e = 1.667 so that the hypothesis for the cognitive and affective aspects accepted, While for the psychomotor aspect of the hypothesis is rejected. Based on the results of research can be concluded that the Problem Solving Learning Method is better than the method of learning Peer Tutoring on students class X SMA Negeri 6 Muaro Jambi on the cognitive and affective aspects.
