Abstract

One of the problems found in learning Indonesian at school is the low ability of students to write. One of the factors of low student writing ability is due to the lack of variations in learning that interest students to learn. This study aims to describe the effect of serial drawing media on the ability to write class IX students in MTsN Kemantan in the academic year 2017/2018. The use of series drawings is expected to increase student interest so that ultimately student learning outcomes will also increase. This research uses qualitative method with experimental type. The research design used is posttest design group. This research was conducted at MTsN Kemantan Kerinci Regency academic year 2017/2018. The population in this study were students of IX MTsN Kemantan class consisting of 4 classes and 73 students. The sample in this study is class IX A (experiment) and IX B (control) with the number of students of each class of 19 students. The data are summarized through the test of student learning outcomes. The results obtained, the average nilaikelas experiments are 72.22 and control class students get an average score of 68.33. After tested the hypothesis using t-test obtained value T_hitung of 0.95 while T_tabel with significant 0.05 and dk 34 of 1.690924. Testing criteria if T_count <T_table then H0 accepted and Ha rejected. The conclusion of this research shows that there is no significant influence from the use of drawing media series to the ability of writing short story students of IX class of MTsN Kemantan Kerinci District academic year 2017/2018.
