Abstract

ABSTRACT Current account balance is a transaction that includes all sales and purchases of goods and services produced at this time. Current account can describe the economic situation and condition of a country. In the trade balance, there are at least two possibilities that causing the current account balance to fluctuate, namely an increase or decrease in the value of exports and imports of goods and services. This research was conducted based on the fluctuating condition of Indonesia's current account balance for the period 2006-2020. The aims of this study were to examine whether or not there may be an influence between the exchange rate, export and import value on Indonesia's current account balance in 2006-2020 using the Error Correction Model (ECM) analysis method. The output of this study indicate that partially the exchange rate variable and import value have a negative and significant effect on the current account balance variable in the long term, partially the exchange rate variable has a negative and insignificant effect on the current account balance in the short term. Partially the import value variable has a negative and significant effect on the current account balance in the short term, partially the export value variable has a positive and significant impact on the current account balance in the long term and in the short term and simultaneously the three independent variables, namely the exchange rate, value exports and imports have a positive and significant effect on the dependent variable (current account balance) withinside the long time and withinside the quick term. Keywords: Current Account Balance, Exchange Rate, Export Value, Import Value ABSTRAK Neraca transaksi berjalan merupakan transaksi yang mencakup seluruh penjualan dan pembelian barang maupun jasa yang diproduksi pada saat ini. Transaksi berjalan dapat menunjukkan keadaan dan kondisi perekonomian suatu negara. Dalam neraca perdagangan setidaknya terdapat dua kemungkinan yang menyebabkan berfluktuasinya neraca transaksi berjalan yakni kenaikan atau penurunan dari nilai ekspor dan impor barang serta jasa. Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan kondisi berfluktuasinya neraca transaksi berjalan Indonesia periode 2006-2020. Studi ini ditujukan untuk menganalisis apakah terdapat pengaruh antara nilai tukar (kurs), nilai ekspor, dan nilai impor terhadap neraca transaksi berjalan Indonesia tahun 2006-2020 dengan menerapkan metode analisis Error Correction Model (ECM). Hasil dari pengujian yang dilakukan mengindikasikan bila secara parsial variabel nilai tukar (kurs) dan nilai impor memiliki pengaruh negatif dan signifikan pada variabel neraca transaksi berjalan dalam periode lama, secara pasrial variabel nilai tukar (kurs) memiliki pengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap neraca transaksi berjalan dalam jangka pendek, secara parsial variabel nilai impor berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap neraca transaksi berjalan dalam jangka pendek, secara parsial variabel nilai ekspor berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap neraca transaksi berjalan dalam kurun waktu yang panjang maupun pendek dan secara simultan ketiga variabel independen, yakni kurs, nilai ekspor dan nilai impor berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel dependen (neraca transaksi berjalan) dalam jangka waktu yang lama maupun sebentar.
