Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Sistem pertahanan tubuh yang berada pada lapisan luar adalah kulit. Kulit rentan mengalami kerusakan salah satu penyebabnya radikal bebas. Radikal bebas dapat mengakibatkan penuaan kulit. Penuaan kulit dapat diatasi dengan antioksidan, seperti kunyit (Curcuma longa) dan kulit kopi arabika (Coffea arabica). Kedua tanaman tersebut memiliki antioksidan cukup tinggi.. Agar mudah pengaplikasian dibentuk body scrub ekstrak etanol rimpang kunyit dan serbuk kulit kopi arabika. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui formula body scrub terbaik yang beraktivitas sebagai antioksidan. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah 3 jenis formula yaitu F1 5% ekstrak kunyit dan 5% serbuk kulit kopi arabika, F2 7% ekstrak kunyit dan 3% serbuk kulit kopi arabika, F3 9% ekstrak kunyit dan 1% serbuk kulit kopi arabika serta perlakuan sebagai kontrol yaitu K+ produk lulur komersil, K- tanpa ekstrak kunyit dan serbuk kulit kopi arabika. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak rimpang kunyit dan serbuk kulit kopi arabika yang memiliki evaluasi mutu fisik yang terbaik terdapat pada formula 1 dengan bentuk semi padat, warna cokelat tua, aroma watermelon, tekstur lembut, homogen serta terdapat butiran kasar. Nilai pH yang dihasilkan 7,06 dengan daya sebar 5,86 cm, daya lekat 283,67 detik dan viskositasnya 6168,59 cPs. F1 memiliki nilai aktivitas antioksidannya kuat dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 75,57 ppm dengan tingkat keaktifan 1,27 kali lipat dibandingkan dengan kontrol positif sediaan komersil. Kesimpulan : sediaan ekstrak etanol rimpang kunyit dan kulit kopi arabika dari ketiga formula memenuhi kriteria syarat uji fisik lulur yang baik secara keseluruhan terletak pada formula 1 dengan nilai IC50-nya, yaitu 75,57 mg/l dan tingkat keaktifan 1,27 kali lipat dibandingkan dengan kontrol positif sediaan komersil. Kata kunci : Rimpang kunyit, Kulit kopi arabika, body scrub, antioksidan ABSTRACT Background: The skin is the body's outermost layer's defensive system. Free radicals, for example, can cause harm to the skin. Skin aging can be caused by free radicals. Antioxidants like turmeric (Curcuma longa) and Arabica coffee skin can slow down the aging process (Coffea arabica). Antioxidants are abundant in both plants. A body scrub is made using ethanol extract of turmeric rhizome and Arabica coffee rind powder for easy application. The goal of this research was to find the finest antioxidant-containing body scrub mix. Methods: A completely randomized design method with five treatments was employed in this investigation. F1 5% turmeric extract and percent arabica coffee rind powder, F2 7% turmeric extract and 3% arabica coffee rind powder, F3 9% turmeric extract and 1% arabica coffee rind powder, and treatment as a control, K+ commercial scrub products, K- without turmeric extract, and arabica coffee skin powder were the treatments used. Results: The results showed that the turmeric rhizome extract and Arabica coffee rind powder which had the best physical quality evaluation were found in formula 1 with a semi-solid form, dark brown color, watermelon aroma, soft texture, homogeneous and contained coarse grains. The resulting pH value is 7.06 with a spread of 5.86 cm, adhesion 283.67 seconds and viscosity 6168.59 cPs. F1 has a strong antioxidant activity value with an IC50 value of 75.57 ppm with an activity level of 1.27 times compared to positive control commercial preparations. Conclusion: Conclusion: the preparation of ethanol extract of turmeric rhizome and arabica coffee rind from the three formulas met the criteria for a good scrub physical test as a whole lies in formula 1 with an IC50 value of 75.57 mg/l and an activity level of 1.27 times compared to with positive control commercial preparations.
