Abstract
The conversion of plastic waste into liquid fuel has become the center of attention by researchers as a way to overcome environmental problems generated by plastic waste and to increase the economic value of plastic waste. In this study, the authors discuss the effect of a mixture of PP (PolyPropylene) and LPDE (Low-Density PolyEthylene) plastic waste and the use of a modified ZSM-5 (Zeolite Socony Mobil–5) catalyst on the quality and characteristics of liquid fuel oil production using the liquid catalytic cracking method. ZSM-5 catalyst was modified by calcination to obtain H-ZSM-5. The oil resulting from the pyrolysis of PP/LDPE was cracked with the catalyst H-ZSM with a liquid crack reactor. The results showed the increase quantity of aromatic compound of 1.69% for ratio of (250ml/0.5gr). For the H-ZSM-5 has a hydrocarbon range of C6-C22 in the ratio (350ml/0.5gr), or equivalent to diesel.
