This qualitative case study investigated English teachers' challenges in teaching English and their effort to anticipate these challenges in teaching English at two Madrasah Tsnawiyah. Data were collected through a demographic questionnaire and the interview process from three English teachers. The demographic data were analysed descriptively. The interviews data were analysed using within-case and cross case displays and analyses. The findings indicated that four major themes with their sub-themes that emerged were academic challenges (students demotivation and low students' Basic English Ability), non academic challenges (lack of Facilities, crowded classroom, and socio ecnomic level), teachers'effort, and leade's support. Policy recomendation and implications of findings and future research are also discussed.
