Abstract
ESSENCE This activated carbon manufacturing plant with a capacity of 85,000 tons/year planned to be established in 2025 in Kp. Singkep, West Sabak District., East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province, covering an area of 3.9 ha. The process of making activated carbon from this palm fiber raw material using the process of carbonization, physical activation and chemical activation with using hydrochloric acid activator. Activated carbon manufacturing operating conditions of palm fiber in the carbonization process is 350oC and a pressure of 1 atm. Reaction what happens as follows: 1. Cellulose Breakdown 2C6H10O5 4C + CH3COOH + CO2 + H2O + CH3OH + 5H2 + 4CO 2. Lignin Decomposition C15H14O4 6C + C6H5OH + CO + CO2 + CH4 + 2H2 3. Decomposition of Hemicellulose 2C5H8O4 4C + C2H5OH + CH3OH + 2CO2 + CO + 2H2 + H2O This activated carbon manufacturing company is in the form of a company Limited (PT) with the head of which is the president director. Organizational system This company is line and staff with 144 employees person. The results of the pre-planned economic analysis of the Activated Carbon Manufacturing Plant this as follows: Investment : US$ 129,648,777,8092 Sales per year: US$ 1,983,356,086.4929 Production cost per year: US$ 1,204,095,481,3503 Net profit per year: US$ 779,260,605,1426 Payout time: 3.2 years Rate of return on investment: 28.85% Break event points: 29.39% Service life: 11 years ESSENCE This activated carbon manufacturing plant with a capacity of 85,000 tons/year planned to be established in 2025 in Kp.
